Parkites on fire as National Indoor Hockey flicks off

Queen’s Park won their opening three matches of the tournament as the club won one match in the Trinity Men’s Division, while they won two matches in the Under-19 Men’s Division.

Justin Dos Santos scored a double to guide Queen’s Park to a 4-1 win over the TT Police Service in the Trinity Men’s Division.

Dos Santos opened the scoring in the second minute, before Antonio Quashie levelled the match in the 19th minute. Queen’s Park quickly regained the lead as Dos Santos netted his second item in the 20th before Jordi O’Brian (21st) and Michael Durity (28th) completed the scoring for the Parkites.

In the Under-19 Men’s Division, Queen’s Park got past Fatima 4-3 and also defeated Raiders 4-0.

Fatima opened the scoring with a 10th minute item from Jeremy Nieves, before Dos Santos equalised in the 11th minute.

Goals from Marcus Pascal (15th, 23rd) and Zachary Clarke (22nd) gave the Parkites a commanding 4-1 advantage.

Queen’s Park almost let the match slip as Che Modeste scored two goals in the 29th minute, but the Parkites held on for a 4-3 win.

It was smooth sailing for Queen’s Park against the Raiders as Michael Durity (13th), Marcus Pascal (19th, 26th) and Maleik Ross (22nd) all found the back of the net.

Matches will take place almost every weekend until November 6.
