$1M for other dead cops

“The Ministry of National Security wishes to place on record that Cabinet agreed to the payment of the sum of $1 million to the estates of members of the Protective Services who were killed in the line of duty, with effect from January 1, 2013 and not July 24, 2015 as incorrectly reported in the media.” The statement said that both the Minister of National Security (Edmund Dillon) and the Government are committed to providing protection for law enforcement officers and citizens who have been victims of crime.

“Further, continued efforts are underway to ensure that the members of the Protective Services who have given their lives for the security of this country receive the recognition that they deserve.”
