Ramoutar’s decomposing body was found near the Chase Village Flyover on May 10. He went missing a week earlier after leaving his Penal home. Relatives said that they do not believe that police will apprehend his killer/s. “Justice would never be served,” cried Sahadeo Ramoutar, the victim’s brother.
“You see, when you are not getting any answers and everything is a mystery, it is the worst feeling. I believe that God will bring us the justice that we are searching for...
someday.” Newsday understands that Ramoutar who was a farmer, was last seen by relatives on May 4, as he was going to deliver goods to an associate in Palo Seco. However, when relatives made calls to his phone and he did not answer, they became worried and went to his Palo Seco home.
When they got to his house they noticed all the doors opened and burglar proofing on one of the windows pried open. This prompted them to file a Missing Person report at the Penal Police Station.
Almost a week later, his body was found with the hands bound and throat slit, in a forested area off Maury Trace near the Chase Village Flyover. Relatives identified his body at Forensics but because of the advanced state of decomposition, DNA tests were conducted to ensure it really was him.
Sahadeo yesterday said that months later, police investigators are no closer to solving the case, arresting and charging the killer and bringing closure to the issue.
No relative could state why anyone would want to murder Ramoutar
