Man collapses, dies

Bajnath, 48, of Pinto Road, Arima had just exited his white panel van for an evening of exercising at the Larry Gomes car park when he clutched his chest and slumped to the ground, dying in a kneeling position with his back supported by the side of his panel van.

According to friends and family who gathered at the site, Bajnath was diabetic and also had kidney complications. A jogger saw when Bajnath collapsed at 6 pm and called the ambulance service.

By the time medical practitioners arrived at the scene, Bajnath who was a mechanic by profession, had already died. He was already in his black and white track suit when the incident occurred. The body was later removed to mortuary for autopsy.

Investigations are ongoing.
