And he will tangle with Elvis Franko, a substitute for his original opponent Jose Cervantes.

The 168lb Lawrence said he does not know or seen Franko, but “he looks and talks tough, but looks and talk don’t win fights.” Since his arrival in Venezuela, Lawrence has won four fights, and aims to make it five in a row.

Lawrence said he plans to make short work of Franko, as “I am here (Venezuela) representing my country.” Cervantes withdrew from the bout with Lawrence on advice from his dentist, following a problem with his teeth.

Lawrence said he was fitter and better than in his previous fights, and has been doing lots of technical work added to running up the hills, wind sprints, shadow boxing and sparring.

Earlier, Franko who took the fight at short notice, said he was fit and ready.

He said, “I have nothing to lose I’ll be all over him (Lawrence) from the sound of the bell.” Franko said, since coming to Venezuela Lawrence has built a big reputation and gained many fans, “bit I intend to take care of business at the shortest time.”
