Why didn’t Moonilal take photos to police?
Does Moonilal not know that parliamentary proceedings are broadcast live on television? Does he not know that the media houses cover the parliamentary debates? Why would he brandish photos of children with guns in the House, thereby exposing their identities? If he was so concerned about the state of crime and illegal activity involving children armed with guns, why didn’t he simply pass the photos to the police for further investigation? And furthermore, why would the media houses carry these photos in their publications/ newscasts? The AG has since explained the true story behind those photos and the Defence Force has issued a statement corroborating the AG’s explanations. So the truth is now known: those children holding sophisticated weapons were under the close supervision of Defence Force personnel; were within the confines of a military base; and were invited there by the army for special training deemed necessary to sensitise and protect the AG and his family who are exposed to significant threats.
In other words, the army official who took those photos and shared those photos has acted unethically, unprofessionally, irresponsibly and has breached the trust of the Government officials who they are supposed to be protecting.
Furthermore, this army official has breached my trust as a taxpayer whose contributions pay his/her slaray. That army official should be investigated and disciplined immediately. There is no room in the army for such reckless behaviour.
Who would want such an officer as part of their security detail? Not me.
Furthermore, when those photos were shared with Moonilal (one wonders what connections led to him receiving them) why did he choose to go to Parliament with them? Why would anyone go so low as to use the children of a State official to try to score cheap political points? Moonilal has shown his true colours indeed and the seed of contention that he has sown will surely bloom into a wicked backlash. Only time will tell. How low can he go?
