Judge signs release forms for ‘Venezuela 5’
Newsday was yesterday told the Venezuelan judge, who presided over the trial, in which the men were charged for terrorism-related crimes, has issued a transfer order for the five to be released from the Servicio Bolivariano de Intelligencia National (SE BIN) prison and into the care of the Trinidad Embassy in Venezuela.
After they have been transferred from the prison, travel arrangements will be made for the men to return to Trinidad. Umar Abdullah of the Islamic Front, which has been lobbying in Trinidad for the release of the five, told Newsday the men would receive a medical check-up as soon as they arrive back in Trinidad courtesy of the Ministry of Health.
