Shamfa represents Parliament in UK
A statement issued by the Parliament on Friday said the event was organised by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK for first time parliamentarians and newly appointed procedural/ committee clerks from across the Commonwealth.
The objectives of the programme included highlighting current best practices and explaining how parliaments adapt to changing domestic and global political environments.
In a separate statement, the Parliament advised that the Parliament Channel is currently undergoing urgent maintenance and this may result in an intermittent loss of video and audio signal on the Channel. The Parliament advised that its proceedings can still be followed on its YouTube channel, Facebook and Instagram. There were no sittings of Parliament this week.
The House of Representatives next sits on December 2 from 1.30 pm. Debate is expected to resume on the Tax Information Exchange Bill 2016 at that sitting.
The bill is crucial to ensuring this country is FATCA compliant.
