Man shot dead in Arouca

Police reported that at about four o’clock yesterday afternoon, the victim was standing at the corner of the two streets when another man walked up to him and without warning, pulled out a gun and shot him several times before walking off. Residents who heard the gunshots, contacted the Arouca police.

Officers visited the scene and the body was removed to the Forensic Science Centre in St James.

Once the victim is formally identified, an autopsy will be conducted.

No arrest has been made, no motive ascertained for the country’s latest murder and Northern Division police are continuing investigations.
