Aboud: Create reserve militia

Meanwhile, Minister of Planning and Development, Camille Robinson- Regis, has said the codes for developing earthquake-resistant buildings should be finalised in the first quarter of next year and presented to Cabinet for approval.

Speaking with reporters yesterday following the ground breaking ceremony to mark the construction of a car park facility in Port-of-Spain, Robinson-Regis said that as a result of the building codes, all building plans “that we approve will have to have a certain level of earthquake resistance.” The codes are being developed as part of the ten-year Trinidad and Tobago Microzonation Project being undertaken by the University of the West Indies and Ministry of Planning and Development.
