Water Polo, swimming splash off in Couva
The public is urged to come out, witness and support the young athletes as they compete at the spanking new facilities where the admission fee is set at $25 for adults and $15 for children. Seats can also be specially reserved at a cost of $30.
The Opening Ceremony for the Water Polo Championships is scheduled to begin at 9am this morning while the ASATT Swim Meet gets underway at 5pm on Friday. Highly experienced Cuban referee, Humberto Navarro, who resides in the USA, is in Trinidad and will officiate at the Water Polo Championships to help increase the standard of the competition in the officiating aspect.
The closing ceremonies for the four-day event would be held at 6 pm on Sunday at the same location.
The competition is considered to be a preparation event for Trinidad and Tobago as the country would be hosting the CCCAN (Central American and Caribbean Amateur Swimming) Championships in June/July 2017 for the first time.
