Tom Yew progresses to RBC U-16 semis

Tom Yew, not ranked in the top four in the category, defeated the second ranked Koylass in three sets to advance to the final four.

Koylass jumped out to an early lead winning the first set 4-6, but Tom Yew showed grit to level the match by winning the second set 6-3. In the Super Tie-break, Tom Yew was a 10-3 winner.

In another girls U-16 singles match, fourth seed Abigail Jones outlasted Rhyse Houllier 6-3, 6-0.

Most of the matches in the boys U-16 quarter-finals went as expected as top seed Adam Ramkissoon, second seed Edward Laquis and third seed Samuel West all won in straight sets.

However, Ethan Jeary created an upset, getting past fourth seed Rahsaan Wilkinson 6-2, 6-3.

Advancing to the semi-finals in the girls U-12 category were Jade Ali and Gabrielle Mackenzie.

Ali got past Sanjili Seenath 5-4 (5), 4-2, while Mackenzie defeated Adalia Badroe 4-0, 5-4 (1).
