Police officers shot at

According to reports, officers of the Northern Division were on mobile patrol on the morning of Boxing Day, when at about 12.45am, they noticed a man known to them in the Phase Two area.

According to police, the man is wanted on several robbery and firearm offences.

The officers slowed their vehicle down and called to the man, but when the he turned around, the officers notices that he was holding something which resembled a firearm.

Without warning, two loud explosions were heard.

The police officers took cover in the safety of their police vehicle, then returned fire, but the man managed to escape the lawmen.

No injuries have been reported stemming from the incident.
