Santa Cruz man shot dead
According to reports, at about 11 pm, Ian Monroe was standing in the roadway in front of his home when several loud explosions were heard.
Relatives and neighbours made a check and found his bullet- riddled body slumped in the roadway.
Officers from the Homicide Bureau were alerted, as well the district medical officer, and the body was ordered to be removed to the Forensic Science Centre.
Police sources said it appeared that Monroe was shot over ten times.
Investigators were following certain leads in this murder and an arrest was imminent.
Up to press time, the murder toll stood at seven for the year so far.
