Murder in Manzanilla

According to police reports, Robert Wells, a craftsman, was last seen walking along the Manzanilla South road near his home when gunshots were heard.

Residents later found Wells lying on the roadway with a gunshot wound to his head.

A party of officers led by ASP Robain and Insp Ken Lutchman and others visited the scene and cordond off the area.

Police rushed Wells to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police are yet to establish a motive for the killing.

This murder has pushed the toll to 160 so far for the year.

An autopsy is expected to be performed at the Forensic Sciences Centre in Port-of-Spain on Monday.

No arrest has been made.
