Man shot dead in car

Police reported that residents of Tarodale Hills in Thompson Gardens, located on the outskirts of San Fernando, contacted them and reported hearing gunshots in the area at 9 pm .

On arrival, police saw Baptiste’s body in a green Mitsubishi Lancer off Bougainvillea Avenue near a galvanised fence. Police believe while Baptiste was driving his car, gunmen opened fire and when he was shot, the car veered off the road .

Police said also said that the engine of the car was still on .

Baptiste, a father of two, lived a short distance away at Yallahs Avenue .

Police said that they are yet to determine a motive for the killing .

An autopsy was expected to be performed yesterday at the Forensic Science Centre in St James .
