WASA promises road repairs in Sangre Grande
In a statement to the media yesterday, WASA acknowledged the concerns of residents about the condition of the roads after work on a pipeline project in the area. The authority explained that the work was associated with the Oropouche Road/ Fishing Pond pipeline project which involved the installation of 6.3 kilometers of 200 millimetre and 300 millimetre diameter pipes along the Oropouche Road from Eastern Main Road to Gordon Miller/ Leemond Junction.
This, it said, was done with the aim of increasing the reliability of the water supply in the area and to reach more residents, bearing in mind that the population has increased considerably in recent years.
WASA said although temporary restoration of the roadway was carried out following completion of the project, the entire roadway requires rehabilitation
