No divergence on Massy
Speaking in the House of Representatives, Rowley said, “I am not aware there is any divergence of view on this matter.” The PM said he commented on the matter earlier in the week because of the outrage that was expressed in some quarters about it.
On Monday, Rowley said, “It is not correct to say Cabinet was not informed.” In the House yesterday, Rowley reiterated that TSTT is not a wholly stateowned company. The Prime Minister said due diligence was taken by independent consultants on Massy Technologies but, “there has been no acquisition as yet.” He added that the matter is subject to certain legal and regulatory processes. Rowley also said public-private partnership to build houses at Mt Hope is ongoing and should be completed in late 2019.
He said Government has not guaranteed any financing for that project. That project is being undertaken by NH International Caribbean Ltd whose chairman Emile Elias, is the current chairman of TSTT.
