Massy Holdings team triumph at Charity Golf

The team of N Lutchmansingh and G Viera topped the field with a score of 45, while the Southern Sales duo of S Hanooman and D Rajkumar, as well as the Phoenix Park tandem of J Singh and P Singh, were next with 44 apiece.

Taking fourth spot were the twosome of N Kallicharan and A Beharry, who finished with 42.

There were also special prizes to the top Women’s team (Amoy Chang Fong and Pauline Raynor) and the top Youth team (Yea Jee Lee and Zoe Correia).

According to a media release, “rain initially threatened to halt proceedings, with persistent light showers in the early morning.

The rain finally cleared around 10.30 am and thereby allowed a start to the proceedings.” The media release continued, “this year the turnout for the tournament was negatively affected by the fact that the tournament was being held on Mother’s Day. The Foundation was still fortunate to have a turnout of 21 teams, and the competition was very keen.” It ended, “the Foundation wishes to express its sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of the very many sponsors and other persons who assisted in making the tournament the success that it undoubtedly was in terms of the competition, the enjoyment and the financial returns - which are used to further the Foundation’s major objective of providing bursaries to sportsmen and sportswomen to pursue tertiary education.”
