Sarwan’s focus strictly on family
Sarwan, who was in Trinidad earlier this month to feature in the exhibition T20 match between the Brian Lara Trinidad and Tobago XI and the International XI, at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, said, “I’ve got three beautiful kids and a beautiful wife. I’ve been taking care of them and they’ve been taking care of me. So it’s been good.
“Obviously I’ve got to play my part in being a father. I haven’t been following West Indies cricket, or much cricket, to be honest.” The 36-year-old Guyanese scored 13,221 runs in 215 First Class matches between 1996 and 2014, including 5,842 runs in 87 Tests from 2000 and 2011. He also posted 5,804 runs in 181 One Day Internationals between 2000 and 2013. He played a number of matches with Lara, and, when asked about his best memory (on the field) with the legendary cricketer, he replied, “there is a lot but, of course, when we scored the 418 (to defeat Australia in the Fourth Test in Antigua in 2003).
