And, in reply, South were propelled to victory through the attacking flair of Joseph and Mohammed who entertained with attacking strokes and together posted a match-winning 91-run first wicket stand in 8.6 overs. They ended victorious with 175 runs for seven wickets in 24.1 overs .

Mohammed settled into a nice rhythm while Joseph was explosive from the very first ball bowled by Andre Seetaram. Joseph’s cracking square drive was the first of seven boundaries that he hit, off 38 deliveries before he became the second victim of former national Under-15 leg-spinner Sameer Ali, who earlier had Mohammed (27 balls, eight fours) caught by Ronaldo Forrester .

Ali bowled Antonio Gomez for a first-ball duck to leave South on 111/3 but useful scores from Matthew Patrick (17) and Avinash Mahabirsingh (16 not out) pushed South over the line. Ali finished with three wickets for 31 from six overs. Earlier, North found themselves in serious trouble at 52/4 in 14.3 overs before Julien stamped his authority with bold positive strokes. He smashed two huge sixes and five fours off 77 balls and shared vital partnerships - 20 for the fifth wicket with Michael Armbard (20), 40 for the sixth wicket with Joshua James (14) and 47 for the eighth with Rivaldo Ramlogan (15), before he was last man dismissed .

Jayden Seales was the main wicket-taker with three for 37 .

Joseph was voted as the “Player of the Match” .
