Siu Butt bags all four for Magnolia

CARIB MAGNOLIA and national hockey star Stacey Siu Butt single-handedly destroyed Ventures when she scored all four goals to lead her team to a 4-2 victory in 2003 Trinidad and Tobago Hockey Board (TTHB) National Indoor Tournament at the Woodbrook Youth Facility. Siu Butt’s penalty corners in the fifth, tenth and 11th minutes gave Magnolia the early lead on Wednesday night before Yesina Luces and Abreau Cockburn put in goals in the 12th and 14th minutes to bring Ventures within one. But Siu Butt was not finished, and ensured Magnolia’s victory when she put in a 33rd minute field goal.

Defending men’s champs Paragon continued their healthy run with a 6-2 win over United Petrotrin, behind  a hat-trick from Dillet Gilkes and two other goals from  the prolific Wayne Leggerton. Solomon Eccles pulled one back for Petrotrin in the 17th and Atiba Whittington added another in the 25th. Malvern shut out Raiders 5-0 and a Colin Young goal and three from Alan Young helped do the same for Fatima a they secured a 4-0 win over Carib.
