Goals galore as CL League pay tribute to fallen footballers

Angostura went on a scoring spree last weekend, inflicting a 9-2 beating on Flavorite in the CL Financial Football League.

Victory last weekend, at the Squadron Grounds, Arouca, pushed Angostura to the top of the standings. On the day teams paid respect to the late Wallace Abinas of Flavorite and defender William “Bunny” Alexander, who also served as the unit manager of the San Juan branch of CLICO. Garnet Glasgow led the way for Angostura with four goals, while Peter Mitchell scored a double, with Stefan Monteil, Luke Alexander and Gregory West adding one apiece. Leon Latchman notched a pair for Flavorite. In the day’s other fixture, Michael Patron atoned for a number of missed chances, scoring the decider as CLICO defeated Net Fire Associates 1-0. Matches continue this weekend at Squadron Grounds, with British American facing Angostura at 4 pm today while Tru Valu will oppose Net Fire Associates from 2 pm tomorrow.
