Tiger Sharks w/polo Friday

Tiger Sharks Water Polo Club have invited teams from several Carib-bean nation to take part in their third international tournament. Players from Venez-uela, Curacao, Barba-dos and Jamaica are expected to compete at Marlins Pool, West-moorings, from Friday, October 10 to Sunday October 12.

A special opening ceremony takes place at 6 pm on October 10. Tiger Sharks players James Robertson and Orion Ganase, currently playing for Colgate University in the New York State Conference, will return home to compete. Christopher George who is playing for Georgia Tech, and his brother Matthew George, now at University of Florida, are also expected to play for the hosts. Tiger Sharks Girls, who are largely made up of the first-placed national team in Ca-rifta 2003, are looking forward to a re-match with a Jamaican girls team, who placed second.

The first Tiger Sharks international Invitational held in 2001 was attended by Aruba and Barbados. The second meet the following year attracted teams from Curacao and Venezuela, and was won by Curacao. This year's tournament is expected to be a keen contest with the Curacao team looking to retain their top position. Head official of the tournament is Alan Too A Foo, Tiger Sharks coach. An international, FINA accredited referee is expected to come in with the contingent from Curacao. Matches will be played after 7 pm on Friday October 10; and from 10 am to 2 pm and 5 pm to 9 pm on Saturday October 11; and 9 am to 1 pm and  5 pm to 9 pm on Sunday October 12.
