TT crush Bajans 11-1 in water polo

THE TRINIDAD and Tobago Combined Men’s team crushed Barbados 11-1 as the third invitational Tiger Sharks International Waterpolo meet splashed off at the Marlins Pool, Westmoor-ings on Friday. The local squad, which features seasoned players James Robertson, Orion Ganase, Christopher George, Andrew Francis and Ronson Hackshaw, had two matches yesterday — versus Jamaica and Curacao. Curacao, who are the defending champs, de-feated Jamaica in the second game on Friday. Only hosts Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica are competing in the women’s category — in a best of three format, with the Jamaicans winning round one 12-4 on the opening night. The tournament ends today with the third-place playoff at 11 am, the TT-Jamaica women’s battle at noon and the men’s final at 1 pm.
