OVER 1,000 SEEK TO LOSE WEIGHT FREE
The free weight-loss programme being offered by the Romano Foundation has attracted more than the 1,000 people targeted and attempts are being made to secure additional sponsorship.
Frank Tull director of the Foundation yesterday said registration has not been closed. If additional funding cannot be raised a fee of $150 will be implemented for the monthly package. Explaining the fee, he said one consultation with a specialist can range between $200 and $250, which was too high for many people to pay. Tull said the introduction of a fee would help the Foundation continue its work because he did not want the TT public to think the Foundation is “not real.” In a media release last week, the Foundation said a specialised team of nutritionists and doctors will be helping people in TT using a combination of the Atkins diet, European diets and the latest inventions of Chinese scientists from Shanghai University. The programme specifically targets people who are obese.
