Police Crush Mayaro in Super FA
POLICE crushed Mayaro United 8-3 to advance to the semi-final round in the National Super League FA Trophy qualifying series. But Defence Force had to go into penalty kicks to secure their place in tonight’s semi-final, edging Club Sando 3-2 after the teams played to a 1-1 draw. Kevin Olliverie gave Club Sando a 1-0 half-time lead, but Kwesi Davis got the equaliser for the Army-Coast Guard men. Brent Lyons, Dwight Elliot and Learie Joseph each scored two goals while Jason Boodram and Grayson Edwarsds got the other in the Police romp. Anthony Jones, Devon Willams and Kevon Sylvestre got one each for the Mayaro team.
Caroni got a goal each from Trevor Mitchell and Alvarado Brice to shut out Maraval Youth Academy 2-0, while WASA Clean and White whpped Tamana united 5-2. Gary Jones fired in a hat-trick for the WASA men and Ralston Haynes and Kevin Joseph got the other goals. Eldon Julal and David Francis scored for Tanama. In semi-final action tonight, Defence Force play WASA Clean and White from 5 pm while Caroni meet Police from 7 pm at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo.
