Castara, Buccoo bid for primary schools title
PERENNIAL primary school football princes Castara Government will play Buccoo Government in a quarter-final of the Tobago Primary Schools Football Association today.
The action is scheduled to kick off from 1.30 pm at Plymouth Ground. There are also three other quarter final matches listed to be contested today, with Scarborough RC taking on Golden Lane Government at Table Piece; Bethesda Government meeting Belle Garden AC at Dusty Park; and Charlotteville Methodist against Mt St George Methodist at Roxborough. Meanwhile, there is a toss-up for the “Most Valuable Player” title between Ronarko Jack of Bethesda who has so far scored 13 goals, and Jermaine Gray of Charlotteville with 11 goals to his credit. Scarborough RC topped the Leeward “A” group with 12 points with Mt St George Methodist as runners-up with seven.
Bethesda Government led Leeward “B” with maximum 15 points ahead of Buccoo Government 12, while Castara Government headed Northside with nine points followed by Golden Lane Government on six. The Windward group was led by Charoltteville with 15 points and Belle Garden 12. Final and third place play-offs along with the girls final will take place at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet on October 31. Delaford AC lead the girls standings with four points from their two matches to date followed by Bethesda Methodist and Signal Hill with three points each. Mt St George Methodist and Bon Accord Government are the other teams and both are yet to gain a point.
