St Anthony’s start Inter Col defence Monday

DEFENDING champions St Anthony’s will play Diego Martin Secondary in their first match as they attempt to defend their RBTT Inter Col title. The match played at the Hasely Crawford Stadium from 3 pm on Monday, will kick off  this year’s RBTT  Inter Col 2003 football. And all indications are that this year’s series will not be short of entertainment and competitive spirit. RBTT have been part of this tradition for the last five years and last season introduced the Girls Inter Col which was snapped up by the dominant Malick Senior Comprehensive school girls who along with fellow students from St Anthony’s were present at yesterday’s launch of the series. The financial institution will continue their partnership with the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL).

RBTT assistant general manager, personal and commercial banking group Robert De Silva said his bank was pleased to be involved in the development of the youth of Trinidad and Tobago through sport, in keeping with their vision for the youth of this country. Apart from the Girls Inter Col, the bank has also pioneered the RBTT Ryd’m, Most Original Chant, Best Cheerleading Routine, Most Original Flag, Best Supporter Turnout and Most Original Instrument competitions, which all offer cash prizes to add to the excitement of the competition. De Silva encouraged all teams involved to strive for excellence on and off the field and anticipated the further support of the general public throughout Trinidad and Tobago. SSFL president Ewing Davis praised  the efforts of RBTT and expressed his league’s gratitude for their generous support. Davis encouraged  players to learn from the sport, enjoy the game and accept the results. Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) president Oliver Camps in a brief address thanked RBTT for their contribution to the league and outlined the importance of this country changing it’s attitude toward the importance of sport in  the development of youth.
