Isle Be True shows form at gallops

ISLE BE TRUE has been a model of consistency this term and showed that he is still in great form on the exercise course at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, yesterday in his final preparation for tomorrow’s Allowance engagement on the Arima Race Club Day 34 card. The son of Freshly Squeezed/Isle Be Gone has scored six victories from 11 starts this season and gave the impression that there is more to come with an effortless run up the straight. Pacing from the backstretch the Chester Roberts-trained four-year-old quickened from the top of the lane to the winning line to post a comfortable 24.37 seconds. Phantom Bidder who has been assigned to carry the top impost in the Handicap 1 and Lower feature on tomorrow’s 10-race programme, was another to look in good shape. The John O’Brien-trained American-bred horse which will be partnered by leading jockey Brian Harding for the first time, stretch out over the same ground in 24.61 seconds.

Stablemate Tazumi looks like one sure to go places. This American-bred juvenile which will make her bow against seven rivals over 1100 metres, went handily between the same markers in 25.15 seconds. Highness was another unraced runner to catch the eye on  the gallops this week. The Irish-bred three-year-old came out very early on Wednesday morning and showed her blinding speed over the last 400 metres of  the left-handed course in 23.786 seconds. Twice A Jet was another to set the course alight with her speed. This two-year-old  attached to the Kenneth De Silva Jr barn, schooled from the boxes and registered a lightning fast 22.75 seconds between the 1200 and 800 metres markers. Also pleasing on the morning were All Set To Battle, Native Love, Golden Shufleur, Full Of Promises, Copy Cat, an unamned offspring of Narciss Toi, Born To Charm, Laura’s Boy, Mister Hypocrit, Majestic, Pave The Way, Senor Gucci and Ooze.
