Belmont stars in Old Boys clash

THE BELMONT Boys Intermediate team, who copped the 1969 National Colleges League trophy, will oppose the Belmont Boys Secondary squad, 1992 National Intercol winners, in their second annual match today.

Kick off time is 4.15 pm at the Hasely Crawford Stadium training field, Mucurapo. The inaugural clash last year saw the 1969 unit winning by a 6-4 margin with former Strike Squad midfielder Marlon Morris netting a hat-trick. Morris and Joe Public coach Ron La Forest are among the notable names in the 1969 squad who will be led by Gordon Husbands while the 1992 outfit will include captain Sean Marshall and national senior players Nigel “Croc” Pierre, Anton Pierre and Colin Roberts.
Belmont also recorded a clean sweep of titles in the 1976 College League, under the captaincy of Brian “Big Bird” Browne.
