Guyana edge TT Under-23s

TRINIDAD and Tobago Under-23 footballers were beaten 2-1 by Guyana yesterday in the first of two warm-up matches as they prepare for the Olympic Games elimination series.

After a goalless first half, Devon Millington gave the Guyanese the lead in the 47th minute in the friendly encounter played at the Georgetown Cricket Ground, Bourda. Trinidad and Tobago fought desperately for the equaliser but had to wait until the 80th minute before Kerry Baptiste grabbed the equaliser. But Shaun Beveney scored what turned out to be the winner for Guyana in the 83rd minute. The teams meet again tomorrow at the Blairmont Community Centre Ground from 3 pm.
