Prescod, Daniel top powerlifters

ALAN PRESCOD and Angela Daniel were crowned overall champions when the Trinidad and Tobago Powerlifting and Olympic Weightlifting Federation hosted their 2003 National Powerlifting and Weightlifting Championships recently.

The event took place in the Athlete’s Lounge, Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo. Prescod lifted 410.35 (total lifted divided by his bodyweight) and Angela Daniel who lifted 248.29.  During the competition Alan squatted 495lbs, benchpressed 375lbs and deadlifted 610lbs. His body weight is 211lbs. Daniel on the other hand, squatted 200lbs, benchpressed 115lbs and deadlifted 245lbs. Her body weight is 115lbs. She had also competed in the women’s masters, squatting 185lbs, benchpressing 105lbs and deadlifting 225lbs. This event catered for competitors in the following clases: teenage, juniors, masters and Special Olympics athletes powerlifting, senior men and women powerlifting; and weightlifting (men and women).
