Stallions dim the Stars 2-0
NORTH EAST Stars lost their bid to narrow the gap between themselves and the top teams CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh and W Connection in the TT Pro League when they suffered a 2-0 defeat by the “Stallions” of Caledonia AIA at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, Arima. Abdullah Phillip put the Stallions in front after eight minutes of Friday night’s game, while former Joe Public midfielder Adrian Narine, in his first match for the club, got the other goal in the 69th. Jabloteh will be aiming for their 21st win of the season tomorrow when they travel to the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella, to meet South Starworld Strikers at 4 pm while, W Connecton will square off against lowly Arima Fire at Malabar. Defence Force should have no trouble in defeating cellar-placed Tobago United at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, from 3.30 pm, while mid-table teams South West Institute of Football (SWIF) and the “Eastern Lions” Joe Public will do battle at the Palo Seco Recreation Ground frtom 5 pm. Under-20 matches today will kick off two hours earlier.
