Ames brothers still in bottom half
KIAWAH ISLAND: The Ames brothers, Stephen and Robert, representing Trinidad and Tobago in the WGC World Cup are now in a three-way tie for 20th position after the second round of the US $4 million event.
The Ames carded a nine-over-par 81 yesterday and are 17 strokes behind leaders Trevor Immelman and Rory Sabbatini of South Africa at the Ocean Course on the Kiawah Island Golf Resort. They are tied in 20th with Hong Kong’s Derek Fung and James Stewart; and Denmark’s Soren Kjeldsen and Anders Hansen. South Africans Immelman and Sabbatini shot a three-under par 69 to take the lead with an overall five-under 139 after two days of the 23-team event at which many of the leading players on the PGA Tour are missing. American pair Jim Furyk and Justin Leonard, along with the French duo of Thomas Levet and Raphael Jacquelin are tied for second at three-under 141.
