Police also got a victory on the day, edging Fire 40-37, as they finished on the ten points from six matches, the same as UTT.
But the UTT squad emerged victorious in the overall standings due to a superior goal difference (plus-37 to Police’s plus-24).
UTT led at the end of their first three quarters against Defence Force (13-8, 26-23 and 36-29), with Samantha Wallace leading the way with 20 goals from 26 attempts, while veteran Janelle Barker contributed 15 from 17 and Jillisa Allan ten from 11.
Anastasia Wilson was virtually a one-woman show for Defence Force, netting 38 from 46 and Kimeria James five from nine.
The Police-Fire battle, of the service-women, was a more keenly-fought affair, as Police led 10-9 after the first stanza but the scores were locked at 19 apiece at the halftime interval.
Police regained the advantage (31-29) after the third quarter and held firm until the end.
The Police outfit got 29/42 from the evergreen Euphemia Huggins while Gursher Grant added 8/10, Shivaughn Skeete 2/5 and Raquel Williams 1/2. Simone Morgan carried the bulk of the scoring for Fire with 27/41 while Joelisa Cooper notched 8/10 and K’lene Lewis 2/8.
