Diego man gunned down

According to a police report, at about 10 pm, officers from the Four Roads Police Station went to investigate a report of a car crashing into a pick-up van along the Diego Martin Main Road near Nagib Elias Drive.

But when officers arrived, they were told that the occupants of the pick-up truck at first thought Kernel Williams, 26, of Cemetery Street, who was slumped over the steering wheel of the car, was bleeding as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.

However, they soon realised he was bleeding from gunshot wounds. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene by the District Medical Officer.

Police sources said they suspect Williams was shot elsewhere and jumped into his car to drive either to a medical facility or to another unknown destination and later died while driving and crashed into the pick-up truck. No motive has been established for the killing nor has any arrest been made. Homicide Investigations Bureau detective constable Stanley Romeo is investigating.
