Woman steals jewelry from man’s home

A 39-YEAR-OLD woman who pleaded guilty to stealing $1,800 in jewelry and other items from a man who had invited her to his home, was fined $2,100 and ordered to pay him $1,000 in compensation by a San Fernando magistrate on Friday last. Tinelisha Manickchand of Barrackpore, appeared  before Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan in the San Fernando Fourth Court. Court prosecutor Cpl Ali said that Wednesday, Stanley Raymond invited the defendant to his house at Roy Avenue, Marabella. Raymond fell asleep while Manickchand was at his home. When he awoke, Raymond discovered his jewelry and other personal items missing.
