Connection roast San Juan 11-0

W CONNECTION booked a quarter-final spot in the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) FA Trophy with an 11-0 mauling of San Juan United at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva.

And the FA holders will now face fellow TT Pro League club South Starworld Strikers in the second match of today’s double-header, again at the Couva venue, from 7 pm. Dreadlocked St Lucian striker Titus Elva notched a hat-trick for the Savonetta-based club on Wednesday night, with St Kitts’ forward George Isaac and ex-TT midfielder Lyndon “Chubby” Andrews scoring two apiece in the rout. Elva got the ball rolling with a 10th minute goal, with midfielder Gefferson Goulart doubling the lead in the 28th and Elva getting his third five minutes later.

Isaac putt Connection 4-nil ahead in the 46th. Isaac would get his second in the 52nd, after national Under-23 defender Lyndon Diaz scored in the 49th. Former national midfielder Arnold Dwarika struck in the 55th, with Andrews netting twice in the space of two minutes — 67th and 69th. Elva completed his hat-trick in the 75th while Clyde Leon got the final goal in the 79th.
