Jabloteh get stroll in the park against Tobago

CL FINANCIAL San Juan Jabloteh are virtually guaranteed a maximum three points when they oppose Tobago United at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, Arima today.

Three matches are on the schedule from 4 pm today in Round 29 of the T&T Pro League. The league leaders Jabloteh have an array of national senior and Under-23 players, and will be favoured to defeat the season’s most disappointing outfit. A win for Jabloteh will carry them to 71 points, 10 ahead of W Connection who are expected to face fourth-placed Defence Force at Malabar from 7 pm tomorrow, while Connection must walk away from tomorrow’s contest with full points to maintain the pressure on Jabloteh.

Another team in the reckoning is third-placed North East Stars, who have 50 points from 28 games. But time is running out on the second-year team, who must win their remaining six matches, including today’s crucial clash against South West Institute of Football (SWIF) at the Sangre Grande Recreation Grounds, to have any hope of dethroning Jabloteh for the title.

South Starworld Strikers, who have had a consistent season, will host “the Eastern Lions” Joe Public at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella today, while in the first match of tomorrow’s doubleheader at Malabar, Arima Fire welcomes “the Stallions” Caledonia AIA from 5 pm. Under-20 matches today will begin at 2 pm, including the Defence Force-W Connection fixture at the Hasely Crawford Stadium’s Training Field at Mucurapo.
