Top footballers for Trotman memorial
The Pinto Road Recreation Ground will officially be renamed after Trotman who lost his life in a car accident on October 3, 2001 along with brother Stephan and friend Tessa Moses. Alconns FC will play Matura FC in the first game at 4pm. This will be followed by Cool It FC, the former team of the Trotman brothers facing the Strike Squad at 6pm. Some of the footballers expected to play are Arnold Dwarika, Ansil Elcock, Gary Glasgow and Kevin Fefferie.
Soca Warriors striker, Stern John is expecting a good attendance and recalled how he learnt about Trotman’s passing after seeing 57 missed calls on his mobile phone after a training session with Nottingham Forst.
“Something wasn’t right and I didn’t want to return the call” said John.
He added “But time heals and even though we still miss mickey a whole lot, we know he’s here with us in spirit and we will keep that spirit alive with hopefully another successful day in memory of him Sunday (today).”
