Connection to meet Stars in FA Trophy final

W CONNECTION will defend their Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation (TTFF) FA Trophy when they square off against North East Stars in the final of the 2003 competition on December 19. Connection got a pair of goals in the final ten minutes of play to eliminate “the Stallions” Caledonia AIA 2-0 in the second semi-final match at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar, Arima on Friday last while North East Stars took care of South West Institute of Football (SWIF) 2-1 in the earlier game of the doubleheader. But Connection and Stars will test each other’s mettle when they square off in today’s lone TT Pro League fixture at the Sangre Grande Recreation Grounds from 4 pm. Rules of the FA tournament allow for 40-minutes-per-half instead of the regulatory 45-per-half, but Connection and NE Stars ensured that there were no upsets in the semis.
