Murder suspect shot with two magnum revolvers in his hands

A murder suspect was shot by members of the Inter-Agency(army-police unit) task force at Beetham Gardens around midday on Sunday. When officers searched him they found two fully loaded .375 magnum revolvers in his hands which they believed were stolen from security officers over the last few weeks.

According to information, responding to a report, officers under acting Corporal Roy went to the housing scheme where they confronted the man, and a shootout followed. The man who is wanted on two murders and was recently freed by the court on another was shot in his right leg, causing him to collapse to the ground. The bleeding man was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he is warded under police security. Twenty-four guns have been reported stolen fron security officers for the year. A 29-year-old Beetham man is expected to appear in court today charged with illegal possession of arms, ammunition, resisting arrest and shooting at the police. Ag.Cpl Terrenece Roy is continuing inquiries.
