Three charged in bush rum raid —— cops destroy ten rum stills

THREE MEN were arrested, and $10,000 worth of bush rum were seized when members of the Princes Town Task Force conducted a four-hour raid in the Indian Walk district early yesterday. The men, aged 53, and 68, of Fort George; and 33, of Sixth Company, will spend the weekend in the cells of the Princes Town Police Station. Yesterday 6 am to 11 am , Cpl Haynes and PCs Samaroo, Lee, Ali, and Sulliman and George received information and trekked some two miles into the Indian Walk forest and discovered the 33-year-old man in a shed which housed one rum still, and several bottles of the bush rum. A short distance away, the cops raided several other homes and arrested two other men, in possession of 11 rum stills and 20 bottled gallons of bush rum. Ten of the stills were destroyed, with one being brought back to the police station and the bottles of bush rum. The three men will be taken before a Princes Town magistrate on Monday.
