Rape suspect due in court today

Police are  searching  for a suspect in connection with a rape in Marabella while another rape suspect is due to appear before a Siparia magistrate today. According to reports, in the first incident a 15-year-old Point Fortin  girl was spending time at her grandmother’s house in Fyzabad. Around 1 am yesterday the grandmother was awakened by noises coming from her granddaughter’s  bedroom. Upon investigating she discovered both her granddaughter and a 21-year-old man in bed naked.

The man  reportedly attempted to escape  through a window. He was arrested shortly afterwards. In the other matter according to reports around 8 pm Saturday a 32-year-old woman was at the Tarouba Pavilion, Marabella. A 35-year-old man whom the woman knows is said to have approached her, held her down and  proceeded to sexually assault her. He then escaped. A report was made to the Marabella Police Station and investigations are continuing.
