Mark: UNC wants answers in 2004
THE OPPOSITION United National Congress (UNC) will be looking for answers from Prime Minister Patrick Manning and the Government when Parliament resumes its sittings next year. UNC chairman Wade Mark yesterday said 2003 had been a very trying time for Trinidad and Tobago and the People’s National Movement (PNM) has fallen short of the mark in every area from health to national security. “They (PNM) have delivered nothing except pain and suffering,” he declared.
Mark stated that come 2004, the UNC “intends to get a lot of answers” from the Prime Minister in Parliament about his recent trips to Spain and England. Manning held talks with senior officials of Repsol YTF and BP respectively during those trips. The former resulted in an agreement between Government and Repsol which will see the Spanish company assisting in some aspects of the University of TT. On the latter, Manning said BP had expressed interest about expanding its sphere of operations in TT.
