Cops issue warrant for murder suspect

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man in connection with the shooting death of Akiel Smith. Smith, 23, was shot dead in the porch of his home on the eve of Christmas eve at his Arima home. A party of officers led by Sgt Johnny Abraham and other homicide officers carried out extensive investigations and issued a warrant for the arrest of a 23-year-old man. The suspect, of no fixed place of abode, allegedly had an argument with the victim over the sale of drugs. Smith was shot once in the chest and died. Investigations were carried out by Sgt Abraham and investigations led to the suspect who was not found until yesterday.
