PNM elects new Women’s League executive
MAGNA WILLIAMS SMITH was elected chairperson of the People’s National Movement’s (PNM) Women’s League for the 2003-2004 term during the League’s recent annual convention in Chaguaramas. Others elected were Junior Community Development Minister Eulalie James (first lady vice-chairperson); Lynette Phillips (second lady vice-chairperson); Shirley McKenna (third lady vice-chairperson); Denise Aleong-Thomas (secretary); Marva Bellamy-Bostic (assistant secretary); Lyndsay Parmashwar (treasurer); Janice Wallace-Henry (education officer); Irene Hinds (public relations officer) and Dora Atherly (welfare officer). In a release yesterday, the Women’s League reaffirmed its commitment to help Trinidad and Tobago achieve first world status by the year 2020. The League extended congratulations to the “captain of the (PNM) ship,” Prime Minister Patrick Manning for a successful annual convention.
