Eastern Boys, Girls win in schools cricket
In response St Phillip’s were dismissed for just 35, but have received little comfort after bowler Kadeem Headley bagged three wickets for five runs and Anthony Dookie took two wickets for two runs.
Then Eastern Girls, like their male counterparts, got the better of St Phillip’s Girls in another match.
Eastern Girls made 97 for the loss of three wickets and Eastern Girls then bowled out their counterparts for 38.
In another match Piccadilly Government Primary School defeated Sacred Hearts by three wickets. Piccadilly made 81 for seven mainly through Kwasi Baptiste’s 27.
Sacred Hearts were then bowled out for with Dominic Kangoo making 20. On Tuesday Daniel Davis hit an unbeaten 24 in leading Rose Hill to 109 all out in the allotted 12 overs to lead his team to hard-fought tie with Lady Of Laventille.
Shenelle Ceasar lashed an impressive 29 and L Alexander contributed 17 as Lady of Laventille also made 109 and assured themselves with a point from the match.
The day after, Piccadilly clobbered St Crispin’s by five wickets and got their second victory of the week.
Isaiah Martin hit 20 and Malcolm Bascombe got 17 as Piccaddlly made 69 for the loss of five wickets.
St Crispin’s were bowled out for 66 although Chris Lansiquot hit a fighting 30 in the losing tally.
Bethlehem Primary also pulled off an impressive win over Rose Hill after a splendid unbeaten half century by Christian Toppin (50).
Bethlehem totalled 102 for the loss of three wickets with Emmanuel Johnson also making 13. And Rose Hill were restricted to 66 runs during their turn at the crease.
Mucurapo, in another match defeated Piccadilly by five wickets. Mucurapo made 118 for the loss of five and Piccadilly responded with a meagre 32. On Friday, Lady Of Laventille got the better of Nelson Street Girls Schools and Eastern Boys defeated Mucurapo Boys, in another match.
