Laventille plumber shot dead

A thirty-one-year old plumber was gunned down at his Laventille home on Friday night. Police reports state that Agustine Hernandez was sitting at the front of his Ovin Alley home playing a card game with some friends when the incident occurred. Reports state that around 9.30 pm, a lone gunman approached the group and opened fire. Hernandez, who was struck in the abdomen by the bullet was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he died undergoing emergency surgery. Police sources have indicated that Hernandez’ death was in fact a revenge killing. Sources have also informed Sunday Newsday that police know the person who carried out the hit and an arrest will soon be made.
